Anyone using these lights?

I have to admit that I havent read the whole thread so if someone has already mentioned this then ignore it. Just a word of caution that I have heard rumors that some of aquatraders products are refurbished items. Their store is only 10 miles from my work and I have purchased a Jebo canister filter and Oddysey PC hood for one of my Fresh tanks from them. Everything works great with exception of a noisy fan when actinic lights are turned on. Just thought I'd send out the rumor. If it's true I'm pretty sure there not advertising it.
 
You pay the regular price at the store and not the online price. Wish I could pay for it online and just pick it up.:rolleyes:
 
Well im not to happy with aquatraders right now. They FINALLY sent my 48" MH light to me and they didnt even send me a F'in ballast! wth? I couldnt call today either cuz they are closed on thursdays. :mad2:
 
Well I just got emailed the tracking number and it shows that 2 packages were shipped. Shows that only one of the packages was delivered to me and the other one is In Transit still. So I hope I get it tomorrow. I just thought id get both of them at the same time becuz they both got shipped together.
 
Anywayz, this light didnt come with any instructions or anything. I know u dont really need but how do you put the legs on? I mean, how do u get the legs hooked to the fixture? I know the bar goes across the legs but how do you get the legs attached to the light?
 
Oh yeah, got my ballast finally! For some reason my packages were in two different UPS trucks and they both came to my house, wierd. Time to set this thing up!
 
will soon. Thought there was a timer on the ballest? Not mine atleast. Also, seems to me that I cant do the dust/dawn lights. There is only one plug. That is disapointing. Help on the legs still?
 
One of the t5 bulbs dont light up either. Just the ends of the bulb slightly do. I tried 3 different bulbs on that one T5 sockets and all do it. I dont know what im gunna do about that one.... . .. sigh
 
I am very angry now. I setup the lights. Everything was going good minus the one T5 bulb that didnt work. 10 mins later. POP, the 2 sets of T5s in the back go out and smoke starts coming out the fixture. :mad:
 
I wish I was kidding. Im calling tomorrow and telling them im coming to san bruno myself and I AM gunna pick up another fixture, end of story. About a 1 hour 20 min drive for me. They should pay me gas money on top of a replacement fixture. Very disapointing and time consuming.
 
Picked up another fixture today. This one seems to be working so far. But of course I ran into another little problem. The fans are rattling against the metal of the fixture which is very annoying. Anyone else have this problem?
 
*Update* Fixed the rattle. Everything seems to be going good. My moonlight from them also attaches perfectly on the MH fixture. I actually like the MH bulbs it comes with. Combine with the upgraded NO T5 actinic bulbs I ordered, it looks good. I dont know how much PAR there MH bulbs put out but I like the color it gives off. I cant seem to upload pictures to this website so I cant post pics.
 
so...what's the warranty again?
was it 20 feet or 20 seconds which ever comes first?

I'll tell you guys a little horror story...especially for those that live close to 99 you know who and where to get the Jebo crap. They're not UL listed.....not that I know of anyhow, they're based out in Chine, lets just say if there was a mishap and the light unit blows up....burns out while still plugged in, you're at work, don't know nothing about nothing, this light system ruins your home, who will pay for it? like those people are gonna pay for what ever happens....doesn't that mean that when you pay more for certain US brand lights, they're UL listed, insured so that if there were anything to happen they would send a claims person out to make you feel accomodated for your losses and be taken care of mentally, emotionally, and most importantly, financially?

Just my 2 cents, take it for what its worth...personally, I'm part Chinese, I really don't care for Chinese made electronics if you know what I mean especially if the warranty would be 30 days from the picking order.....thats just stupid, it means that they know what their products are worth....not much and they're not really willing to stand behind what they manufacture, and before anyone steps up and asks me if I've ever used their products, the answer is yes, I've use the skimmers, lighting, UV's, and tanks....
