I've been using 3x250w Radiums for the past year and would like something not quite so blue. I've run the Radiums on m80, s50, and electronic ballasts, but they always seem to be a bit monochromatic to me. I've been giving thought to running Ushio 14k due to the strong 420nm spike and the fact that the 175w put out as much par as a 250w Radium on an electronic ballast. I'm running three bulbs in Hamilton Cayman Sun reflectors over a 180g tank, bulbs are about 6 or 7 inches off the water. They're currently driven by luxcore selectable ballasts on the SL setting. No supplemental lighting, although I would put up a diy led bar with 15 cree RB to supplement the Ushio (or add some t5 if I go the 175w route). If anyone is running the Ushio 14k, I'd appreciate some pics!
