I live in Phoenix, Az. & had someone interested in buying my Reef Stew zooplankton & the person was in Australia. I do not have a Fed Ex account & when I got a price for overnight it was over $400.00. This was 1 small box. I have purchased led lights from China & they have accounts & get the discounts & I paid over $200.00 shipping on the slow 1 week time frame. Hope this helps you.

You're live Reef Stew wouldn't pass into the country I'm afraid to say. Bio-Secure country with massive protection of imports in place. We can onl;y ship non live, non viable products there.

Typically you'll find air cargo is cheaper for international freight like this, but not always.

OG poster... I've shipped quite a bit internationally... what would you like to know?

Corals, forget about it unless you have the original CITES import documents. Fish, not a problem.

It would seem like aqua cultured stuff like my clown fish, nudibranchs, and aquacultured corals would be a loop hole around CITIES as they are live stock at that point.

What do you need to ship fish? Do you need a CITIES permits or are there different classifications for tank raised fish and nudibranchs? What paper work would i need to fill out to ship fish to say Europe? Is there an inspection? do you have to ship out of certain locations like OHare? What has it cost you to ship one medium size box to Europe or Japan?

Thanks Mark

I have thousands of nudibranchs and hundreds of clowns. I am slowing down nudibranchs as my aiptstasia production is not keeping up, I have tripled by production of aipstasia but need to let them catch up before a start producing them at this rate again. I am really thinking about the nudibranchs. I am just starting to market the clowns. I want to sell one hundred lots of clowns to wholesalers. Same with nudis I want to sell large lots of 100 to 500 to wholesalers. I have a couple of buyers there but will need more if I produce at the rate i have for the last two months. The clowns are a recent thing and i have not been collecting fry lately as I have a large amount growing. After I get the nudis where i want them I will have to decide how far to take the clowns, how regularly to collect the fry now that i have that process down. I have about seven spawning pairs but have only been collecting fry from a few of them when i have time. But I do want to be able to ship nudis overseas. I think they are hard to find in some parts of the world.

I ordered some type of nubias nana (f.w. plant) off ebay from china before and I recieved a letter from the boarder patrol or who ever it was saying I can't do that. The chinese seller said it happens sometimes, and with plants it won't pass if it has any dirt on it, also they said fish were easier to get through. Not sure if that's accurate though

I have not tried to ship anything alive internationally, but you may want to look into using air freight through one of the commercial airlines since it sounds as if you are looking to ship bulk products to a reseller. The only downside is that they will need to pick up at the airport or you will need to arrange delivery via another service once it gets to the new country

From there you just need to research the import laws in the country you want to ship to because the trick is not getting the stuff out of the country, the trick is getting it in to the new country. Usually aquarium fish can avoid any quarantine requirements but you can run into import bans if they worry about the things being released and causing damage to their ecosystem
