Anyone work for Honda? I need a key.

My wife got an 05' Honda crv se about 3months ago and only 1 key. I really want a spare because I know my wife... I was quoted $60 for the key and $120 to program. I know I could get the the key cheaper, but $120 to program!!!

And advice or help would be awesome.

i am sure you can check out the HONDA forums as to how to program the key w/o having to go through HONDA to do it. I don't think the key is laser cut or contains a chip in it (but I might be mistaken). Last honda I had was a 2002 HONDA CIVIC SI HB it was a normal run of the mill key that I had copied form ACE a few times (for valet purposes). The remote had all the programing in it. Now my new Acura MDX on the other hand I am sure has something more fancy than my civic si

My 03 accord had a chip they had to program. I lost the only key I had and as a result had it towed in for a key to be made. I was not happy and felt like an idiot.
