Thinking about.getting a bulb anemone for my clowns. Is there anything I should be aware of before I purchase. Do i need to wear gloves, will it sting me? I've been stung by an orange eye urchin, not fun. I feed my fish mainly pellet food, would I need to also give it a small shrimp? How oftem? I've read they typically extend out more when they're hungry.

Liveaquaria is calling it a bulb anemone, I have a 75g, its been up for several months now. I don't have a qt setup but I could without any problems within a few days with the exception of cycling it.

BTA are very hardy. you need an established tank with stable parameters and a good light source. People usually say 6 months to 1 year before your first anemone. BTA do not need to be fed. they grow faster and split more often when fed. Feed them small shrimps, clams, fish pieces, etc..

I've never had issues touching anemone. not sure how allergic you are to things.. but they should be ok. If you are scared, a plastic bag around your hand works.

I would wait a few more months for anemone depending on how old the tank is. Your routine needs to be pretty consistent and the biological filter is still fairly young. QT for BTA is not needed.
