Anything worth collecting off jersey shores

I have one...we use it to collect baitfish also. We do a lot of fishing.

The only Wrasse I've had any luck "collecting" off the Jersey shore, are Taotog Onitis. :thumbsup:

Ive caught at least 3 differnt small wrasses and seen like 2 more but couldnt catch them...nothing spectacular to look at though

We've caught puffers in our crab traps, nothing interesting tho

im actually on my way to a disney cruise going to the bahamas and castaway cay. what id give to be able to catch things here and bring them home!

I have caught fish in Barbados and brought them home. Issue is going to be getting past TSA with a few bags of liquid in your carry on. If you can legally catch tropical fish in the bahamas, you could get a few heat packs and check them in with your luggage. I did my harvest the day before I left and filled the bags with air from an air pump. All fish did great.

I did have a trip to the doctors office from ever so lightly touching a black spiny urchin.

my problem is after the cruise im staying in disney for a week, and we drove down. otherwise id be packing a suitcase just for fish

Good luck with your recovery from the assault of the black urchin. Many, many years ago a friend, who was clowning around for a photo shoot on his honeymoon, managed to sit on one. The honeymoon was unforgettable...

Spent tue dqy at ibsp and lost of hermit crabs and clams

spent the day with the kids Saturday with the good old seine net caught tons of hermit crabs baby horse shoe crabs and some baby lookdown fish all in all a fun day.. nice to hear a 6 year old identify amphipods on a log she turned over

2 more days!! I have a feeling that most of my vacation will be spent digging and collecting. I'm so excited.

Well, we had a great vacation ...very busy. I'm so upset. Collected Friday evening, got a lot of copepods and amphipods, I even collected a couple tiny shrimp, muscles and sand crabs.
Had everything in a 5 gal bucket with a powerhead going. Obviously had to shut off the powerhead for the ride home. Got home, everything was dead. A 4 hour car ride was too much. I was so upset. UGH!

Next time bring a battery powered air pump. They're good to have for a power outage or transporting livestock in buckets.
