hey guys, i got a copperband butterfly around 2-3 weeks ago. i got lucky and it was eating frozen mysis on day 2. i have been constantly feeding at least 3 - 5 times of frozen mysis to this fella a single day. it eats quite alot and pretty fast too. easily downed 10 - 15 mysis per feeding.

But problem is, it still looks pretty skinny, i worried despite this kind of heavy feeding, its still slowly starving, any idea?

This could easily be internal parasites. Have you wormed the fish? Prazi-Pro is a great wormer and like all meds, should ideally be done in a QT/HT. But PP is the only reef-safe med I know of. Also, CBBs are timid fish that often don't get their share at mealtime, but it sounds like he's eating well. As mentioned above, blackworms are a great food for CBBs. But I don't think that this is a problem that is going to be solved by just adding a food or two.

Mine fattened right up in no time. I feed a live clam at least 3 times a week. All the fish love it especially the Copperband. I also feed mysis daily.

Feed him blackworms 2 to 3 times per day

Clams or mussels on the half shell.

All good suggestions. CBB require an insane amount of food in order to thrive.

You could also try white worms if you have anyone with a culture around. They're pretty ridiculously easy to keep going too for the future. Problem is finding some to start with.

As mentioned, live blackworms should work well, but be careful how many you feed out at a time as they don't live long in SW.
