APEX 100 Foot USB Cable

The neptune spec says you can use a USB cable upto 200 feet. Has anyone done this with a 100 foot or greater cable? How well does it work? Where did you get the cable? Did it have a repeat chip integrated into it? Thanks.

Ifyou're talking about the cable between the controller and the EB8, it's not really a USB although it's the same connectors. I don't think you can use any repeaters - straight through only. www.monoprice.com has cables and you can order by foot. There are others.

Correct; no repeaters; cable only and you should be fine.

I'm using one 95 feet. Works perfect and I've had no problems. usbfirewire.com sells them for ~$50 for just about any length. They told me they've been selling them to Apex owners all summer. Very nice people.

Repeaters will not work because USB is 5V and Aquabus is 12v.

Yes, but you cannot use a long (>15') cable that uses repeaters every 15' or so, which is what is done for true USB applications - Apex is not using the USB protocols, it's just a convenient cable format so length doesn't matter.
