Apex I/O Box

Radio Shak doesn't sell them; I purchased a 12' male to male and cut it in 1/2 to make 2 6' cables that I turned into connector boxes. As I recall they ran $15 but I'm not at home to you will have to search around for them.

Here is a link to the cable that I bought on ebay. As of this posting they have more than 10 left.
ebay

It comes out to just under $8.00 with shipping.
It is a 6ft cable that can be cut into two cables with the proper connectors already in place.

(I have no affiliation with this seller other then buying my cable from them.)

Question; i've mangled my white pins on my I/O breakout box. At least one fell off into the sump, despite using small gauge wire (18). The pins are very flimsy and tough to get back on once you've broken them off, as i have done with most of them now. Can i just cut off the box, use the I/O wire with a terminal strip?

Newbie? Besides a float switch, what are the other devices or uses for an I/o box. I want to add as much function to my Apex as possible. My sump is outside approximately 12 feet from the Apex, but I should be able to the the cable that distance, right?
I already have an ATO device, I think it is called a Tsunami. In any case I won't need a float switch for ATO at this time, but would like more functions as I have said via a I/o box if available.

There are certain X10 devices you can connect to the Apex through the IO box. I think the waterbug WB200 water sensor is one.

You can add basically anything that will open or close a low voltage circuit. So a float switch, flood sensor, a switch to monitor a window/door/cover that is open, or any device that provides a low voltage discrete output.
