Apex or Reefkeeper opinions?

I know which one I want to go with, but I want to hear some opinions before I actually upgrade. I want the best controller that will allow me to do the most things away from my house. I do not really care about easy programming, but that would be nice just as long as it does not limit overall capabilities. Any and all opinions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Anthony

If you want/need to do the most things away from your house, I would go with the Apex. It has really good web control.

The RKE, on the other hand, does not. :) Its supposed to be coming (and may be here... I've not kept up to be honest), but I don't think its here yet for the RKE.

Thanks Brandon. I had already decided on the Apex, but wanted to hear it from someone else before I went with it. I am running the ACII at the moment and am not too thrilled. I like it, but it is obviously way out of date.

Yeah, ACIIs are ancient. :)

Don't get me wrong. I like my RKE and my RKL. I've had 0 problems with them. But if you need remote control, the Apex would be the way to go. :)

Brandon

Apex, 100%. You're welcome to come check mine out if you want. I have the Vortech control module ordered up, it should be shipping the week of the 12th. I can help you program it if you want too, it's very easy. 100% remote control, programming, etc. Upgrade over the network. I can control my tank from my blackberry :D

That is indeed the route I am wanting to go Zach. I will come check yours out next time I am in SH. I will let you know when I am headed that way to make sure you are going to be available.

The Spider Monkeys are looking pretty nice. Only $10, too. Ask Rhett where to get them.

:D

Brandon

Nah, I think I will shell out the extra $30 for the Spider Monkey "Ninja" Version. It is supposed to be a little more bad@$$. :D

If you like it when tech support answers the phone, then I suggest the APEX. Curt is a great guy and makes a great product.

Apex hands down  I know Josh just got one also and he likes it.

Yep, first controller I've ever had so I don't have much to compare it to but I love it. I had it up and running and programming via the web and my phone in very little time after unpacking it. One of the coolest components of my setup by far.

Thanks for the input guys! Also, does anyone know if their is a app for the apex on something other than the iPhone? Say on the DROID perhaps?

people have their preferences. I love my DA stuff and think it superior technology, but there have been CS issues and that is a factor people consider.

Anthony,

I can show you how to control your Apex from your iPhone or Blackberry. There is a web app I can show you that works great.

Superior Technology? Can you control or reprogram your ReefKeeper remotely? Upgrade it remotely? Superior hardware is nothing without having proper usability. Maybe if they started working on software upgrades for the ReefKeeper and worry less about the HerpKeeper they would be somewhere. :)

Sounds good Zach. I am upgrading to the Droid in the next week or two, so that is why I was curious. I will let you know when I get it ordered and you can show me the ropes.

Thanks
