To be honest I wouldn't buy any of the Android phones and the Storm 2 was the only choice I had. I wanted a touch screen phone and I love the BlackBerry. It seems more responsive and the screen seems more accurate. I'll keep playing with it, but I wouldn't buy any other phone Verizon has, even though this one annoys me. Hopefully this update fixed my issues.

I am in agreement. We piloted the Droid at work...sucked imo...too google centric for most of us, lockups, mail issues..ect...

I like my storm with the exception of the browser....that sucks....is it any better on the 2, especially with your new firmware?

The storm 1 was blah unil v5.x firmware and then it rocked for me.

The storm 1 with the 5.x OS was awesome. Storm 2's browser is about the same. Maybe a bit faster with the latest update but not by much. I am peeved to no end they took the google search option away in the browser screen, and replaced with bing. I hate Bing. I don't want my phone to be centered around google like android but I do want the search engine to be google, or at least the option. I have Opera mini installed which I use instead which is quite fast and has a google search bar.

.607 turned out to be one of the worst OS's I have ever seen released by RIM. It broke applications I use on a daily basis, and also started freezing up my phone. It would glitch for 10-15 seconds and then start responding again. The radio also seemed weaker as the signal wasn't as good as before. Horrible, horrible OS, yet the screen was more responsive when the phone was actually working.

I installed SaskTel's .517 OS and not only did it fix all of the above problems, but the screen is even more responsive and at first try I can type more accurately on this release.

Just an FYI, all Apex / controller related, of course

They are both good controllers. APEX is a little more advanced, and tech savvy people will enjoy tweaking it. If you like simpler navigation, i would go with the Reefkeeper.

I believe software for the Reefkeeper will be out later this year.

Apex is doing everything to stay ahead of the game :)

The menu on the display of the Apex is about as simple as you can get IMO. After looking at the RKL, it's even simpler to navigate than that. Then you can use the web interface to really tweak if you so desire :)

As many options as it has, i think its kind of pain in the a$$ to navigate from the controller itself, on either controller, but i think the web interface for the Apex is simply awesome, the ability to export and import etc. Also their new iPad app :D looks sweet (same as iphone)

Well I got mine up and runing and can say its really nice. I can agree with ai-reefer here and all (APEX, RKL, ACJR) are a PITA to program with the headunit in my opnion, but out of the three the APEX is the smoothest. The webserver with the webapp make it so nice to program. Took me about 15-20mins to get it programmed and running.

Yep... I hate programming on the headunits. That was one thing I really liked about my Aquatronica... I programmed over serial interface. I wish those controllers weren't so expensive.

The software for the ReefKeepers (myReef 2.0) will be out in a few weeks. They showed it off at MAX. I can't wait for it! :)

Yes, I am going with an Apex Rick. I bought 2 Vortech's and a battery backup (which is almost worthless), so I am saving my pennies back up for it. The package with all of the goodies that I want is about $800 so it will be a few more weeks before I can get mine in.

Yeah. How is it worthless. I got one and it saved my reef from crashing. It will save yours. Keep it hooked up. Tornado Season is comeing up.
