I might be the dumbest person when it comes to this Apex. Might as well be greek to me. I am trying to setup my eb8 and i cannot I have no clue where to locate the "outlets" on the system i see things that say var... or alarmsend. I just want to plug my damn 8 things in and have them turn on and off when i want. I know how to set the coding i just cannot set the damn ooutlets up i mean the actual things you plug in not the virtual or module. UH im so confused

and yes i have read every users guide

The "outlets" are the things that are NOT listed as "var", "alarmsend", etc! :)

When you look at the list of outlets, you see all the variable speed ports, the alarm outlet, the warning outlet, the email outlet, as well as the physical outlets. The physical outlets should be labeled with their default names (heater, pump, etc) but also have their physical location noted with "EB... " designators.

Obviously, my outlets have been renamed, but this should give you an idea of what to look for.

OP, after the outlet that says "EmailAlm_I5 - (base_email)", you should see outlets that are consecutive something like this below: (Your outlet names/numbers will be slightly different depending on how the Apex assigned the EB8.
xxxxxx - (x_1)
xxxxxx - (x_2)
xxxxxx - (x_3)
xxxxxx - (X_4)
xxxxxx - (x_5)
xxxxxx - (x_6)
xxxxxx - (x_7)
xxxxxx - (x_8)

These are your outlets. If you look at my image, my EB8 shows my outlets as (5_1), (5_2), etc etc.

If your not seeing something similar, then make sure that the USB cables are plugged in snuggly (I would assume that they are, being that the Apex has power and you can get to the screen/webpage for Outlet Setup).

If your following along, and can see the (x_1) etc, those are your outlets. Name them, program them, plug in your equipment, one at a time, and make sure you can control that piece of equipment from the apex display or your web browser. (Using a common household lamp for this part really helps avoid floods).

Can you confirm that you've got the EB8 plugged into the controller with the cable that has the USB ends? Can you post a screen shot of the bottom of the web page 'Module Setup'?

For some reason your controller is not recognizing your EB8.
