Just a couple questions from a new Apex owner:

  1. My EB8 always reads 0 for amps ( amp_3 ). Is there a setting somewhere to enable that feature?
  2. What is the proper way to 'reset' the entire system? I changed the admin password and its telling me to reset the Apex.
  3. What is the best way to extend the Aquabus cable? I want to ad another EB8 and Display and locate them in my garage which is about 40' from my base unit and existing EB8

Thank you for any information you can give me

Needs calibrated; contact neptune and they can walk you through the process.

Unplug, count to 10, plug back in (you can just unplug the base from the EB8; that is good enough).

BTW... A USB cable with repeaters can NOT be used for AquaBus.

Just got off the phone with Rick over at usbfirewire.com. They will have a custom 35 foot USB cable w/o repeaters sent to me next week. He was already familiar with the Apex system because they have had a few orders from Apex users in the past. Great people and service... I totally recommend these guys if you are looking to extend the distance between your Aquabus modules.

I got my 95' USB from them last September and they already were very aware of the Apex even though it had been out only a few months. I bet Apex users have been keeping them busy.

I think Curt is missing out on some easy money by not selling "Neptune approved" cables in longer lengths.

So the length limit for USB cables doesn't apply here? It was my understanding that USB cables in general had a ~15' limit for communication without repeaters/boosters.

The Apex controller doesn't run USB - it just uses those cables/connectors. It's a 12v system where USB is 5v. That's why the cable can't be powered at all with repeaters/boosters.

The limit for the entire aquabus is 200' per Neptune.

The aquabus is simply a USB cable then? I need 9 ft cable but the aqua bus only comes 3 6 15, dont need all that extra slack.
