APEX stuck in feed mode?

my wife just called and it sounds like my apex is stuck in feed mode - has anyone had this issue?

she went to the main screen and found feed mode cancel but it doesnt do anything

What leads her to believe it is in a Feed Cycle? Have things shut off? It could be that there is a loss of communication with the EB8 and it has defaulted to the fallback states.

there could also be delays programmed into the feed statements that would prevent the cancel from changing anything.
