I have my heater range set to 76.5 to 77.5 on the Apex. Yesterday and this morning I noticed the temp was holding steady at 75.5. I could not get the heater to come on even with an Apex setting of "On". What I did find out was the sump was low and the temp probe was above the water line. As soon as I filled it to the proper water level, the heater came on.
What I'm trying to figure out is, why didn't the Apex turn on the heater when the temp was reading 75.5. I'm glad it didn't because it would have fried my tank. There has to be some sort of safety built into that measures the ambient temp against the tank temp.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Jim
