Apex WIFI Connection Adapter Broken?

So trying to connect this old school Apex classic to WIFI and the Netgear adapter power light is flashing green. Apex instructions say wait till both power and LAN lights are solid green. I am turning off the wifi/internet connection prior to connecting the adapter.
Has anyone dealt with this issue before?

I use exactly the same set up with my apex and had some issues with it as well. In my case it helped to set up the WiFi bridge again. If that doesn't help then you may need to see if the Apex network settings are right.

The thing is I haven't even gotten to the Apex part. I'm trying to get the WiFi connection established before hooking up the Apex. The issue is with the adapter not Apex. I am not able to get to the WiFi/networking setup wizard.

You need to download the instructions. And to set up the bridge you have to connect it to your computer with a network cable. At the same time the direct network connection of the computer needs to be suspended.

i had one of those in the past and it was pretty crappy, i will drop connection every once in awhile and I would have to reset the power to reconnect. I got ****ed off and got a powerline adapter, they suck for internet usage but it worked great for an apex.

Is the Netgear CE2300 or something like that? I used one like that briefly and I had to power cycle it like at least once a month. It was pretty stable if you power cycle it once in a while. You can even power cycle automatically it with the Apex if you have an extra outlet imo.

Thanks for the posts everyone.
I think this wifi adapter is busted. Either time to buy a new adapter or sell off old Apex stuff and buy the 2016 wifi ready. Ha.

I replaced the one you posted with the NETGEAR WiFi Range Extender EX2700 and it's been working pretty good. Also doubles as a wifi extender for other wireless devices.

I had the exact same experience as this, the first unit (same as pictured) had the solid green light and I wasn't able to get it to work again. I got the Netgear range extender and have not had a problem since. For me it was worth the $25 (was on sale on Amazon).

Same for me. I have Netgear wifi range extenders on all my Apex systems, even the Apex 2016, which lost its Wifi connection ~100x/day, despite stable 50+% signal strength until I connected it by ethernet to the Netgear. I have one EX6150 and two EX3700 and all work well and without obvious interruptions.

Problem solved

Problem solved

Final update with a word of advice actually.
I received the EX3700 wifi extenders but I was also told by a family member that extenders can interfere with primary signal. The family member is a former networking admin. I did some online research and found out that many EX3700 users tried to use the units as "bridge only" because they were having signal interference. However, there was no such option. Then a Best Buy employee told me that WIFI extenders cut the primary wifi signal in half to distribute/extend the other half throughout the house. That wasn't okay with me.
With that said, I ordered IOGEAR wifi adapter for $44 on Amazon. It's also available at Best Buy. This is a pure wifi adapter/bridge that works like a charm. You don't have to settle for the old fashioned and in most cases used Netgear adapter anymore.
