Apex wireless

Sorry if this seems basic, but I want to make, sure I buy the right stuff. Is a network adapter the same as a gaming adapter to connect the apex wirelessly? At walmart they sell a bunch of wireless adapters to connect wirelessly to your router but no gaming adapters.

I have an Apex coming in and was wondering the same thing...I'd rather not drill through the floor to run a CAT5 cable....

They 2 are a bit different. Here's an exerpt I pulled from AV forum:

"The USB adapters that are being talked about are USB network cards for PCs. Blu-ray players don't have Windows and drivers, etc. to make them work.

What everyone is linking to is what is called a "bridge" (also called a "gaming adapter" since they're often used with Xbox'es and the like). They take the wired Ethernet and convert it to a Wi-Fi connection. You need one of these more advanced converters for any stand alone device like a game console, Blu-ray player, etc."

In our case, Apex unit does not have window drivers to make USB wireless dongle (aka network adapter) work. You need a gaming adapter. Dealnews.com posted a sale for:

TRENDnet TEW-647GA for $25

However, it looks like newegg just sold out of them. It's best (not mandatory) to have the same brand router and gaming adapter..
