Apisto's Shallow Deep-waters

Great looking favia's and FB!

Thanks! Here's a little better pic of the Rainbow Favia.

Lost my first one and really like this acro. This is just so I have a growth record of this popular deep water: Pacman

I just got an Avast Top-down Porthole and shot a few hand-held macros with pumps on (as usual).

This shows the cool base colors of this acro, contrasted by the yellow coralites and red/moroon polyps:crazy1:

That chalice! Wow!

Yes, it is pretty nice. It's a much faster grower than I had expected, considering how hard to come by it is.

Speaking of...Here is a favia that isn't fast, but is very slow-growing, for me at least.

Anybody want to guess what this carduus-type smoothskin is? Dwayne? Since you seem to be one of the few that are really interested:jester:

Neil,

Great Stuff looks fantastic!

Tom

Thanks Tom. Here's one from you.

This slow-poke has been shooting out small branches for months and months, but not really making any effort to grow into a nice little upright colony. And you now how long ago I got it from you. Thank goodness all acros aren't this slow in my tank. I'm patient, but not that patient :headwallblue: :crazy1:

Not sure on that smooth skin, I picked up a frag recently of one that looks almost just like that, same color and structure. Waiting for it to grow out. Got it at your reef recently

YR gets bunch of interesting stuff! Surprisingly that coral is supposed to be Red Dragon, and I bought it from someone I trust a great deal. So, it may have morphed in my tank.:hmm5:

Neil, very nice new corals collection. Hope I will visit you again one of these days.

Thanks Bernie. Anytime, just let me know.

Personally? I don't think that's red dragon

I wouldn't think so either, if I hadn't seen the original frag. It did look like a small branched red dragon frag. It'll be clearer as the colony gets a little larger. It did get stunted a bit early on when I was careless with salinity. Right now it is not particularly colorful, but I kind of like the colony.
