The Tiger Angelfish - Apolemichthys kingi is found around the South African coast, between Kosi Bay and Aliwal Shoal, at a depth of 60-150 feet deep on rocky reefs with dense sponge and tunicate growth.
This incredibly beautiful sub-tropical species requires very cool water, and the habitat of these fish in the wild are rocky reefs, with dense sponge and tunicate growth. There is very limited information on the long-term husbandry of this species, as only a few have ever been collected and shipped to Germany and Japan.
Cheers!
