April Meeting

April's Meeting will be held at Jay's (smyrnareefer's) House in Smyrna Tn The Date has yet to be confirmed but I think it's between the 22nd or 23rd of April. Also open is the Topics to be Discussed so your opinions are expected.

All kidding aside there are several people in the Club that have very good Camera's and Skills to use them. I will contact them and see if they can put a demonstration together.
I honestly think the key is an expensive camera for great photos though, And the proper equipment for shooting under water.

i have a good camera, just cant use it....

anyways, the weekend of 23-24 is easter weekend so i think the weekend of 30-1 will be better for the majority. i say lets do the april 30th 11-3......thoughts?
 
What about a club newsletter? LFSs could advertise specials/coupons/new arrivals/etc., we could have DIY articles, club calendar, classifieds for members, results of meetings, profiles of fishes/corals, etc. - to be eMailed as a PDF (Acrobat Reader file format) to all members. It would be a simple way to keep all club members informed on the goings-on of the club, wouldn't cost the club anything (yes, I'm offering to do this), could help attract new members (printed versions could be given to LFSs) and it could be posted on the MTRC web as a download as well.

Just an idea.

The weekend of the 30th rolls around the weekend that I am required to work. It's ok though I probably won't make this months meeting. I took off Monday the 25th which gives me six days off in a row for the price of one!! whoo-hoo! I planned on maybe taking this weekend to go see Chris near Knoxville and take the boys to Atlanta to see their aquarium.

i'll go for that as easter we will be in tullahoma to spend time with paulas family there and the 30th is a saturday which doesnt mess with church so im all for that and as far as topics for the meeting i'll have to keep thinking...jennie got a good one there.....blasted jennie (shakes fist at her) lol
 
+1 on the newsletter idea. I will like to make it to this meeting since I'm not a member yet and would pay my membership fee there. Since I'm a newbie, I think a DIY clinic on say how to build a sump, how to take pics (stole this one), how to feed corals, what products are best for feeding, dosing, etc. My $.02
 
you should be able to come since you live down the street..

i think maybe a few diy things might be good since there are a few new members to the site and the hobby.....a sump diy topic sounds pretty good as there really bout 3 basic was to set up a sump....w/ without baffles and the ways ya can set up the sections and plumbing........sorry if i made mistakes typing im on the phone not cumputer
 
i wouldn't mind knowing more about the biopellets and gfo filtration equipment and anything else that goes along with that type of equipment.
