Aptasia and HOT water

Last night I tried to rid my tank of the aptasia by using a syringe and spraying really hot RODI water into the mouths of the aptasia (Not easy). It seemed to put many of them into stress, an inspection today seems to indicate I may have been somewhat successful.

Has anyone else tried this method and where you successful? Thanks

hey John.....I usually mix kalc paste and some lemon juice.....works temporarily anyway!
Never tried hot RODI....

Lots of people recommend using hot (boiling) water.

IME nothing works better than a Bristletail Filefish. Just get them out before they eat your palys too if you have them. Also eat anemone's if you don't have host clowns living within the anemone.

I tried squirting boiling water at one once. It just got really stressed, hid, and re-emerged with some tentacles missing. Luckily, it was on a rock that could be easily removed. So, I took the rock out and poured boiling water straight from a tea kettle directly onto the little bastard. It never came back.
