Aptasia anenomes

One of my tanks is infested with aptasia anenomes of all different sizes. Anyone have recos on the best way to get rid of them? I have heard some butterflys will eat them but presumably not when they are as large as some of mine are. For reference, I also have some rose and BTA in the same tank so don't want to do anything that will compromise them. Thanks!

Either an army of True peppermint shrimps ( Lysmata Wurdemani ) or if you don't have wrasses get an army of Berghia Nudibranchs.

Has anyone seen any Lysmata wurdemanni (Caribbean peppermints) around? I've been checking several LFSs for about a month and I've only seen Lysmata rathbunae (the Florida ones). The rathbunae are nice scavengers but they don't seem to go after the aiptasia like the wurdemanni do.

I just inject those things with a large syringe full my special blend of pure kalk.

Hard to reach area sometimes, but a single injection is enough to vaporize them.

Make sure you dilute the substance when you're done. This stuff is lethal in high doses.

Im trying the tropic marine elimi-aiptas because i got it for free and was going to give it a try, if all else fails i will try my luck with a cbb. I see on the computer the tropic marine comes with the hypodermic needle however mine didn't just a tip like the test kits have made of plastic, Do you just spray your solution on top and in the hole where they live or do you actually stick the need in them and inject, which to me is kind of impossible if the anemone isnt stupid.

I heard lucky gold fish in san jose has the real peppermint shrimps that eats them. I was told that all they feed them is aptasia.

I was gna pic some up but afraid my wrasses might munch on them and don't want to risk the shrimps attacking any of my corals

The syringe I use can be found at Tap Plastics for 3 bucks.

It's the same one you can use for injecting flavor into your turkeys. Mmmmhmmm turkeys.

I just try and get the biggest peps I can when purchasing them, I figure they've learned to eat the Aiptasia in the wild at that point and don't get used to having all of our wonderful "fish food" floating around to make them lazy

Buy 4 to 6 Large (Adult) Berghia Nudibranchs they will kill them in 1 or 2 months. I had aptasia really bad for over a year until I bought Berghia Nudibranchs. They breed like crazy and only eat aptasia, plus they eat at night so no one will bother them. Plus its fun to watch them attack a big one in groups in the middle of the night. All mine died after the aptasia were gone.

You can have them as long as you don't have wrasses in your tank which would make it difficult for them to survive.

man, my problem is that my tank is all wrasses, so which one goes after these Berghia ?
I have Lineatus , rosy fairy wrasse, Exquisite , blueside, flasher, Yellowfin Fairy Wrasse ,Pylei Fairy Wrasse ,

I'm no wrasse expert but, like my tank which houses leopards, mystery, yellow coris, 6line and a fairy. They all make sure no little critter stays alive.

I've got to think you bigger type wrasses would go after them? or at the least peck at them to see if they're paletable. Never the less at 10-15 a pop is that price steep to risk as a taste morsel for them

I tried a klien before, and it loved expensive coral

Can you take rock out, to a holding vessel, or attached tank for cleaning? Rotate the rocks to the holding tank to get the worst of them? My new tank set up will have a "attached holding tank" for just such issues.
