Aqua C Remora Skimmer

I have an Aqua C Remora Skimmer with 1200 Maxi-jet running for about a month and I am having problems with too much water coming into the drainage cub. I produce foam and I am collecting junk in the cup. Currently I am having to empty the cup several times a day. I eventually got fed up with that and I am draining the extra water back into the tank just to keep the water low enough to be able to collect junk in the cup. I really don't want to be adding the water back into the tank but I can't figure out why the collection cup keeps filling up with water.

Did you adjust the collection cup up?

You probably know this, but the lower the cup sits, the more water it collects. Adjust the cup higher and it will collect less skimate, but it'll be thicker/darker.
