$175 - UV sterilizers are used in general to kill off free floating microorganisms that can exist in your aquarium. This is particularly useful with some types of algae and the Ick parasite. In addition it will make the water in your tank appear more clear.

We purchased and installed this one in August/September 2015. This sterilizer has only been running for 6 months. I can show receipt for proof if desired. We tore down the tank and are getting out of the hobby. This item retails for $275
