Aquabacs' Cadlights Artisan 50 Azooxanthellae Tank build

That set up has given me an idea for another project in the future :) Now is have to try to convince my wife why she doesnt need to closet by my tank. That might cost me an Elos 70 worth of jewelry to bribe her.

I can not wait until next summer when we start house hunting.

Keeping my fingers crossed, my fish left Hawaii last night and I should be able to pick it up at Delta cargo later today. Actually, 8pm tonight since there was a slight delay. Right now, I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve. If everything goes ok, I will post up pictures later of this beauty collected at 375ft.

I still have no idea.

*edit*
Oh wait, that rare deepwater yellow anthias that was featured on GBD a while back...

Here we go:

Am I right?

Wow. I remember reading about that and thinking, "only in my dreams," and here you are getting ready to pick one up. Couldn't be going to a better environment!

It has been a fish of my dreams since I first layed my eyes on it. Now how long it would take to aquire this fish, I had no idea. When I think of our tanks and the depths of the ocean this fish would continously swim through my mind, almost obsessively. Now all I can do is wait and pray that it arrives alive.

Congratulations in advance. That will be quite an addition. Can't wait to see photos of it swimming in the "darkness."

I am back home and the fish is alive. Immediately unbagged the fish at the airport, put it in a bucket with a portable air pump, and drove home. Fish is in the bucket right now getting dripped as I am typing this. When I opened that bag and saw it was alive, I couldn't be more happy. I have been doing this hobby now for a little over 30 years and days like like today make me remember why I love doing this so much.

I wish I had windows in it. I could then make a true deep water reef. dark and cold. I know it sounds stupid but I look into them all the time looking for new stuff to pop up. I might put some sand in the bottom and see what happens, but I really wanted them for water addition. But a deep sand bed, in darkness with a slow flow might be cool to see what happens.

Just explain to your wife that it means no more spilled water in the living area as all your changes and such would be in the closet. It worked for me, although my filtration is in the basement.

Crazy fish, you have some of the best sources. Pictures please!!!

Thanks guys. I will once I get in from the office. Grabbed a few bucket pictures and they will be posted. Plus I will post up later who deserves the credit for making this all happen.

Here she is!
