Is it wrong to sell your fish? Well I did. I received an extremely good offer for my Ellerkeldia rubra and I sold him. He was enjoyable to watch and very easy to maintain...I will miss him.

But that opens the door for me to get another dream fish :D

I am still waiting on a certain deepwater Hawaiian fish ;) but that is going to be on hold for now.Yesterday a Choerodon cyanodus came in, just waiting on a text to find out how big the fish is and whether I am going to pick it up or not :)

Hey Mike,
Have you had a chance to set up your BM dosing pump yet ?
I'm trying to figure out which one to get and could use your input.

It looks like I am going to set up a system like aninjaatemyshoe [sp?] did ,using a coolworks probe ,mag stirrer and reactor .

Just need to make up my mind on a dosing pump.
David

oh, and build the tank . lol

David, I am still testing it out (set up in my kitchen). I don't have all the parts yet for my autofeeder. Hopefully the frig will ship either today or Wednesday. Once the frig comes in I have to first test it to see if the temperature will hold where I need it then I have to disassemble it. Well only partially. I want to make sure I am not drilling through something I am not suppose to :)

Austin, we shall see. Just waiting to hear how big the fish is. Who knows how this will pan out? If the fish is to large at the wholesaler than I won't be purchasing it.If it the right size, I will then enjoy it for a while. Then if it gets to big; I can either put it in the aquarium in my office or if my wife gets attached to the fish, tell her I need a bigger tank ;)

So far, pumps 1 & 2 are dead on and I haven't finished evaluating pump 3. I have been testing it dosing 120 ml a day. Broken down to 5ml an hour x 24 doses a day. The system itself was extremely easy to set-up and so far I am impressed.

Here is how they have it spec'd for dosing

1ml can be divided into 1 or 2 doses
2ml can be divided into 1, 2, 3 or 4 doses
3ml can be divided into 1, 2, 3, 4 or 6 doses
4-5ml can be divided into 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 or 8 doses
6-11ml can be divided into 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8 or 12 doses
12-160ml can be divided into 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12 or 24 doses
161-319ml can be divided into 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12 or 24 doses
320-479ml can be divided into 3, 4, 6, 8, 12 or 24 doses
480-639ml can be divided into 4, 6, 8, 12 or 24 doses
640-959ml can be divided into 6, 8, 12 or 24 doses
960-1279ml can be divided into 8, 12 or 24 doses
1280-1919ml can be divided into 12 or 24 doses
1920-1999ml can be divided into 24 doses

Not much to worry about in terms of drilling a TEC unit. Everyone I have taken apart (dozen + now) has only had the TEC unit in the rear. The sides only had foam, well, the better units. The cheap units didn't even have foam on the sides. Still not a bad idea to look before you leap though :)

I wonder why they limited it to that?

can it be driven by an external controller?

I am not sure why either? (I am sure some DIY'er can figure out how to hack this function) This unit is the actual controller and can be set up to 2 additional 4 pump slave units. So it can control 11 pumps total.

Mike

Well, Rotifeast and Oysterfeast will be used in the system. Now, the third item to be added is still in question. I will continue to use the fishmate autofeeder for administering the FM dry foods though.

Mike

That is the option that is being weighed. The product is awesome but I have drawn interest in the actual demand of phyto on our systems. As each system might have a different for it, to run a system solely on it, I don't believe is possible for any long period of time.

Tonight I finished evaluating pump 3 on the BM doser. After 3 days of testing, pump 3 was off once by 5ml. I believe that is an acceptable variance. Doser gets my
