Mine is pulling like a champ now, I am loving this! Is noisier than I would like but it's in the kitchen so don't care too much. And my microbubbles are gone, took out the filter pad I stuck in there and still gone.......yaay.
joeyf said:Just a thought on the remora pro, they reccomend a mag 3, why in the hell were you running a mag 7 on it, its no wonder you didn't like it, you were overpowering it. A mag 5 would be the most you should run, unless I'm totally mistaken???
My Remora Pro never worked good. Just weak Iced tea colored water. Never could get it to pull out anything substantial. I originally got it to hang on the tank, but couldn't use it that way because I could not open the canopy with it on (DOH!). I used it in sump ala Urchin first with Mag3, then Mag5. Always fiddling with cup height, never worked good. I went to an ASM G2 and holy cr@p, what a difference! Pulls out stuff like no tomorrow. Set it and forget it. I never mess with the adjustments. No more hissing sound like the Remora either. I think the needlewheel design is a whole lot beter than the spray injection of the Aqua-C skimmers. So to all you how dont like the remora, find me a better HOB skimmer that doesnt make your tank look freaking ugly!!!
You can replace the Mag7 impeller with a Mag5 impeller and turn the 7 into a 5.anthonya73 said:I only had a mag seven and didnt want to spend the extra for the reccomended mag 5 so I throttled back my mag 7 . I dont know how people are using mag 7 s on this skimmer because I couldnt keep my water level down.
