If youÃ"šÃ‚´re getting too watery skimmate, open the water valve just a little bit, but jussst a little bit and wait for 4-5 hours to see the results.

I have been playing with my new sump set-up for a little while now (ok, longer) and in my desire to achieve a quiet skimmer output, I have found that adding elbows (directed down) to the skimmers output is equivalent to adding more head to the pump. I watched the water height drop as I directed the elbow downward.
I now like the old micron filter sock trick..... placed around the output of the skimmers gate reducing the water flow noises without disturbing the pump pressure. I think that the water leaving the skimmer should be as unrestricted as possible.

the method that is published by the company, is to put a 1" -1.5" mpt adapter in it, then a 1.5" tee.
I havent', as i need to run with the gate wide open, and the 1" -1.5" mpt would put a bit of restriction itself.
may still give it a shot.
ti, as i've attested to, pump makes all the difference on my 180.
I don't know about how the panworld works, i know it should with it being pressure rated, i can't use a pressure pump on my sump though, tempered glass, i've already went thru expense of replacing and end on it.

well, with the eheim 1262, the exit gate wide open, the water level is already almost to the sticker on side of the riser.

My 1260 will be here Monday. I hope the 1" to 1.5" will be ok. If not, I might remove the gate valve and plub the "tee" right into the skimmer.
I put my ozone back on last night and the water level is the same but foam is down.

the 1 to 1.5" puts no pressure on my drain. So the water is all flowing down in the 1.5" pipe. Or it is draining faster then the output can keep up with, which is good. I put a little felt pad over the open "tee" to muffle the noise sticking up (on the tee).

Holy skimmate batman! I just hooked up the Eheim 1260 with only 10" of tubing strait to the injector of my ev180. To keep from gating the pump(and flooding my apt), I've got the air valve almost shut off. Wow! I'm going to need someone to hold me back, or I'm going to chop the riser and add 5 more inches.
The Panworld40 wasn't injecting enough air. Lucky for me the 1260 is going to work very well, I'll use the Panworld for the tank return.

I cannot imagine a 1262 on here. I have to play around with removing the skimmer gate and maybe the nipple too. I have 1/4" of water line in the riser with the air almost cut off.

I just hooked up my 1260 on my EV-120.
Well you guys were not kidding. I waited 2 weeks for my Mag5 to foam into the cup.
Lets see, installing the 1260 and in about 10 seconds the bubbles are very very fine and going nuts. I am running the pump 100% open, no gate valve from Savako pipes yet; just ordered Friday.
I do have the air valve closed about 80% but the bubbles are so damn fine and up to the cup. The skimer is like on "the juice". I wish it worked like this 3 weeks ago! Now it was worth the upgrade to this skimmer. I wish Aquac would just dump the Mag5 and say use this pump! It really is un-real now.
You guys where r100% right!

well, if you're on 50hz for sure get the 1262.
according to the response from aqua c the 1260 would be weak on the 180 but will work.
I know my water line with 1262, in order to be even with the top of box, i have to have the ballvalve tee'd off the line 1/2 open.
with it closed, water level is about halfway between top of box and the aqua c sticker.

I'm going to have to add a gate valve to the pump, I can't get the water line below the top of the box.

I can only get it to be 1" from the top of the box.
I do not know if this installation was good without a valve right now. It is foaming like crazy.

I'm still testing mine out in the kitchen test sump, and I'm definately adding a gate. I can get either micro- fine foam that barely makes the cup with the air nearly off, or just a touch to the ball valve, and wet skim city.

I use a SEN 700 and it is so powerful that with the air valve closed the water rises about one inch into the riser tube. I am having a hard time getting my skimmer adjusted. Would you recommend that the water level should be exactly even with the top of the platform (ie, where the dark plastic meets the clear riser tube) in order to get the most out of this skimmer?
