AquaConnect 250 watt, 14k, SE ???

Hi all,

Anyone using these bulbs? Are they worth the $$$ ? Are they better than your old bulbs? I am considering these bulbs to run on my Galaxy 2 x 250 with Lumenarc Mini's. I have been reading what I can find. These bulbs seem to be scarce. I'm currently using Radiums on my 120. I am curious to see what others think.

I used 2 sets (3 bulbs) of them on my 390 and 1 set on my 300 so far. I used Ice Cap ballasts and 14" diy Lambenarc reflectors on the 390 and 300. I recently replaced the reflectors with Lambenarc II hammertone reflectors. Center is 18x18 and outside 2 are 14x18. The bulbs have great white/blue color and I get great growth from the corals. Nice pics and set up. I like the reflectors name. I thought is was a typo at first. haha Do you notice a diff. with the hammertone mat'l ? Thanks!

Thanks, and yes the hammertone makes a big difference. I took some PAR/PPFD readings with my Apogee Quantum meter before I removed the flat polished reflectors. Then I installed the new hammertone reflectors and had to raise them 7 inches higher off of the water than the previous reflectors to get the same PAR/PPFD. I'm going to lower the new reflectors about 1 inch every two weeks, and see how the corals respond. The light spread from the larger reflectors makes the tank look much brighter.
