Does anyone use these and if so how do you like them? Also, where is the best place to purchase them?

Art:

Just got a pair today, so I can't comment on how I like them yet, but according to Sanjay the PAR is excellent and the spectrum appears to be a nice comprimise between 10k and 20k. The best price I found is from Ichthythings in Florida, a fishstore outside of Tampa that I've communicated with before. They have a website, but the bulbs are presently listed only on ebay. They're not cheap, however, but less there than any other online retailer I've found. HTH.

I've been using them a couple of months now. Still a little early to comment on coral coloration but they seem to be working very nicely:) I'm getting good color on everything I have, nice blues, pinks, purples and greens.
Premium Aquatics has them in stock. Pricey but I came down to AQ or radiums for a change over the 10k's I've run for years and changing Radiums every 6 months is expensive too:eek1:
I really like the look of them to my eye as well.
If you are looking into new bulbs you might also look into the reeflux 12K, lots of people seem to like those.
Here is the thread Dave(CR Dave) mentioned.

Of course you are welcome to come look at them as well if you like Art.

Don't use the RF 12k, they're too dim IMO. $100 a bulb on ebay for the AQ 14k, better than PA.

Chris,

Are you running VHO 03's with the AC 14K's? If so, how's the blue? I've got (2)-175 14K Iwasakis over a 40 breeder now, but plan to go to a single 250 when I get Jenn's GC 50 going (she gets the (2)-175's). I like blue, and this won't be a display, so there almost can't be too much. I've got a spare VHO ballast I plan to wire up and throw over it, if needed.

I'm running 3 110 watt UVL VHO's and it's not too much blue to my eye. I really like the color.

:) Thanks for all the feedback folks. Sounds like a good bulb for coloration and longevity. I ordered two so I anxious to see how they do. I've been running the cheap Chinese bulbs for over a year, the price was right but I was having to replace them about every four months. In the long run it may be more cost effective to use these.

With a lumenarc over a 40 breeder with VHO's, I should be in good shape, then.

That's plenty IMO. I have a Lumen max 3 (I think........ the SE one) over my 40 and it does a good job.
