aquacontroller mounting?

Not exactly a close-up picture but you get the jist of things...
I gutted the inside of a plastic parts box of appropriate size. (the generic type that holds nuts, screws, etc...I think I got it at Lowe's if I remember correctly) and used that as a splash-proof enclosure for my ACIII Pro. I screwed the new box directly into the wall studs and then used velcro to hold the actual controller inside the box. I drilled specific-sized holes in the bottom edge to plug in all the connector cables while the latches still fully close and function. So the use of velcro "inside" the box is just fine...the lid is completely see-through and protects the controller. I very rarely ever have to actually open the box.
ummm, and before you ask...
the number "4" simply corresponds with the fourth button on my home-made electrical control panel (see door open)
I labeled everything when I went on vacation for the benefit of my house-sitter. The satellite power strips (top of the picture) are directly connected to the panel via electrical non-metalic flex conduit. NOW I just have to figure out how to integrate my expensive DC-8 into this existing system without dissecting it

I don't know what velcro you guys are using but the stuff I bought at Staples which is labeled as Commercial Strength is definitly strong enough to hold the controller. I have been using this velcro for over 15 months and I have not had any issues. The velcro I purchased is about 2inches wide. I cut 2 pieces and attach to the back. The velcro covers the entire back section.
As far as bumping into things, if you were to bump into my controller the way its attached with this velcro you would damage the controller before it came of the wall. I have difficulty dettaching the unit when I'm trying so accidentally bumping into it would not be a problem.

I haven't commented before because I thought my opinion on how to mount the controller was well known (it is documented in the manual). I've personally been using quality velcro strips to mount my controller(s) to the wall in my fish room for 10+ years and have never had any trouble with it failing. Be sure to use the wider velcro strips with strong adhesive, and I don't think you will have any problems.
There are also some velcro like attachment strips that have plastic rods that interconnect. I think it would be nearly impossible for this material to fail. The backing material is a thick plastic with an adhesive. If for some reason the adhesive didn't stick to your wall, then the strip could be screwed to the wall instead. I don't know the brand or name of this product, but have seen it in hardware stores. Maybe some else has seen it, and give the name/brand
