AquaForest Program

Picked up my Reef Salt at Shoreline.
They got in a large portion of the line.

Good prices on the stuff and right at your fingertips!

Club members get 5% off The AF line.
Non-member prices are still good as well,
Probiotic Salt 22KG is $71.99 and 10KG is $43.99. The Reef Salt was $49.99 for 22KG and $29.99 for the 10KG.

About to mix up my first batch, going with 10 gallons. Tank volume is 22G so I don't want to go too fast and shock the system.

Headie Corals will be using it in their systems. Jeff said they will carry limited quantities however if a lot of people want to go in on buying it at the same time he can do a larger order of salt.

Just learning about the whole AF system today after noticing my colors have been getting a bit drab and doing some research on supplements. Guy at LFS really sold me on AF system but my head is swimming. I'm hoping writing this out will help clear it up in my own head and you guys can straighten me out on anything I get wrong.

First, I have a 100g system, SPS dominant but fair amount of LPS, two Kessil A360s for lighting. Nitrates consistently at 5 and phosphate at .02. Dosing BRS 2 part plus magnesium. Just got bulk amounts of the BRS stuff and Reef Crystals so want to use that up before jumping to AF for those.

Guy at LFS was talking about balling by adding AF stuff straight into BRS 2 part dosing containers. Believe it was the Components Strong he was talking about (but they were out at the moment). Is Components Strong the same as Components A,B,C, and Kalium? Except that it can be added to Ca and Alk dosing containers rather than dosed manually?

Also sounds like Pro Bio S and -NP Pro are worthwhile, as are the Amino/Vitality/Build/Energy supplements, but not sure I'm going to do all this at once...

Ok, bought the full system today. I plan to keep maintaining Alk, Ca and Mg with Brs two part, but do you think I need to add component abc? Below is what I ordered today and will start next weekend.

Probiotic salt
Po4 minus
Carbon

Pro bio s
Pro bio f
Np pro

Energy
Build
Amino mix
Vitality
Power food

Switched but not going so well

Switched but not going so well

Hi,
I started using the Aquaforest products 3 weeks ago. My tank wasn't winning any awards but it was stable. For the first two weeks I used the following at half the recommended dose. Fish V, Garlic, Coral E,B,V, A and Food. Initially polop extention was better and I was excited. At the begining of week 3 I did a 25 percent water change with the probio reef salt, initially nothing unusual happened other than the water seemed clearer. About 4 days after the water change corals began receeding, showing less polop extention and duller colors. Today a day after a second 25 percent water change I have several corals that appear to have died and the rest have definately lost their color or have no polop extention at all.

My tank is a mixture of lps and sps. My no3 and po4 have always been zero measured with a rs and hanna kit respectively. Is it possible the probio salt stripped the tank of even the remaining unmeasurable nutrients? Any help would be appreciated. For what it is worth I used Salinity salt before.

Man Im ****ed! My big ck stag colony is stning along with 2 other Millie's. Hope it is not the probiotic salt. Haven't lost anything in a long time! I have been testing everything like crazy. Only thing I changed was the salt.

From what I've read, if you're using the probiotic salt, you must use ALL the supplements that go along with it. And weekly water changes are a must.

I'm starting with the reef salt until I can commit to everything else.

Yes bacteria has been seen by some and as stated in my experience points to an imbalance of NO3 to PO4. I backed off on feeding and went back to half dose on bac/media. Been ignoring my tank lately and can barely see in the glass right now as I haven't scraped it in a couple weeks but looking this morning after a long weekend all looks good. Day late on my WC, but hope to get that done today.

I think it's better. What I think it's great is how everything works together. Specially the salt, when I used to have my 60g cube I had to mix the salt the day before.

Results will tell the story here. I would love to here and see if all the supplements really make a difference to someone with good husbandry skills already. Or if it's just over kill or over done. I am going to load up and get all of them. Do a triton test every two weeks to really see what is going on in the reef.
Seems to me like the more stuff I dose in the system, the more things get out of whack.
Btw the cyano problem I had is gone.?
About to start the whole program next week. I will update with pics etc
