AquaForest Program

I think it's all crap but that's just me what do I know. I'll stick to Red Sea and no water changes.

Good ole Franky. That doesn't work for everyone and correct me if I'm wrong, didn't you have a crash?

Ahhhh, Friday morning entertainment (LOL). I'll just sit back and enjoy the show.

Im from singapore and eversince Aquaforest came to my country, alot of local reefers have actually tried both the salt and the range of products, most in not all were giving great reviews.. i personally uses only the pro bio s and i can see GREAT improvement in PE in my SPSs... even my ice fire are displaying PE like they always do when lights are off..

Yes you are correct tank crashed. However nothing to do with salt choice it was a doser problem. It broke and levels got out of whack. So back to my previous statement. AF = snake oil

Tanks will probably do well with table salt but no ones tried. Lol. I believe that with good husbandry any salt will work. AF is not just salt. It's an entire program. Way too many moving parts. Add a little this remove that add this other thing oh yeah lower that but increase this. Nah ain't nobody got time for that.

^ yeah what he said.
I remember when acro power was crack for the reef!! Everyone was on it. Til them dang phosphates started going nuts etc. just did any other weekly 30 gal water change. Parameters are on point. Still have signs of stn on a few colonies.
Btw, where on the bro bio salt does it say you have two buy $200 worth of other ****? Just saying? Should the salt be the **** at $80 we all dose 2 part and Kalk no? Strontium, some elements etc?

i am all about hobbying and try new stuff. But I got an OG screaming in my ear that if it ain't broke don't fix try to fix it! Well, shes prob right, we are all looking for a majic potion to make things grow quick and blah blah blah. The fact of the matter is.. Patience and good husbandry is the only secret!

Actually a girl I used to work with was getting those tiny Hawaiian shrimp Opae ula that can live in a 1 gallon tank. I was going to bring in a gallon for her but she asked the day they got delivered. Instead of waiting until the next day she got impatient went and got her own salt. Took me a few questions to figure out she didn't get the 5 gallon box of IO from petsmart.:fun2:

+1

What ever happened to keeping things simple? This reminds me of KZ products, so many bottles involved and time consuming. I see this as a trend. People get excited about a new brand, buy a whole lot of product, then later can't pinpoint which product is actually giving them the good results..

Most of their line up seems like a replica of what has been available for years, just with prettier packaging.

^ aqua forest is smart! They created a buzz around the forums and reefing scene. But hey, this is a hobby. All the reefers I know love tinkering. But like you said, I love keeping things simple. In keeping a reef tank that's impossible lol.

Good skimmer, fuge, cheato, gfo, carbon and a water change at least once a month, 2 part dosing and ato. Everything else is just for someone else to make money off you selling you the next miracle SPS potion.

AquaForest Program

Too true Franky and Pauly! I see nothing wrong with keeping it as simple as possible. I agree that this is a great marketing scheme. It's all stuff that's been out for years just repackaged and given new names. I think Franky said it right by calling it "Snake Oil."

I'm sticking with my Brightwell Neomarine salt and just doing monthly water changes, heavy skimming, GFO, Carbon, Kalkwasser to keep as stable as possible and 2 part dosing. I try to enjoy my reef and less time adding this or that.

I think that it was Tweaked and several other guys when I joined the forums that said " There is no magic potion, just patience and consistency. Nothing good in a Reef Tank happens fast."
