Aqualight pro mounting legs and ballast?

I picked up an aqualight pro fixture and can't seem to find the legs for sale anywhere. They are all the wrong type of legs. The legs i need slide in on a horizontal track on the bottom. All the aqualight legs i found local slide in on a track on the sides of the fixture (which mine doesn't have).

And if anyone happens to have the kit to hang it from the ceiling, that would work also.

Now, as far as the ballast goes, the 2x65w ballast is bad/gone. I found it online, but they are all special order :( Anyone have an idea where i can get one? Its this one to be more precise:

Aqualight ballast 53067 or SPL-265R-JS

David i ended up getting some oddessy fixture legs and improvised using the existing brackets on the fixture and it works and its strong :)

The ballast i searched high and low for, found the several part numbers they go by and all back order. I am probably going to look into an external 2x65 and somehow wire it up...

Oh David, do you know anything about the LED's? are they burned out or is there any other problem? I've got replacement moonlights from my biocube hood that i could wire in, which i'll probably give a shot.

But thanks again for the fixture, its doing great and all the corals are loving the boost in light :)

Steve,

You might double check the connections where the PC ballast plugs in - they may have just come loose. I know they were working before I opened it up to check the PC ballast.

I e-mailed Oceanic directly and they stock the ballasts. Not sure how much they are - I'm still working on them to just send a replacement. I'll keep you posted!

David

you didn't put the ballast back in the fixture so unfortunately i can't check the connections. Thats great news that Oceanic stocks the ballasts! :) Thanks for the update!

No luck Steve - I heard back from Oceanic and they referred me to aquariumpart.com. Not sure how long it would take to get them in.

Right on, well thanks anyways. I'm sure its possible some how to rig up any other 2x65 ballast. I'll just keep my eyes open. No rush at the moment. I think 150w halide is more than enough for the time being over the 29g.

I went ahead and visited aquariumpart.com and it says its in stock, so i placed the order. Now i just have to wait and see if they reject it due to backorder issues :(

I'll let you know what happens!

Glad to hear they got them in stock - hope all goes well with the installation. Getting the actinics will help. I'd be glad to look at the moonlights - not sure if I can get them back up and running, but would be glad to look it over. I'll see you tomorrow at the club meeting!

Yea they confirmed they were in stock and sent me a ups tracking number. Can't wait to get it and plug it in :)

Oh, btw, the bulb that was in it, if you let it burn in for a while, its very blue. I looked on the bulb and it says 20k :) I may go back to the 10k and use the actinics along with it. But we'll see :D

Ok, so the LED's work! I took your advice and plugged in the cords for the pc's, and viola, like magic it works haha.

Glad to hear it Steve - you'll be in great shape once that ballast gets in for the power compacts. Looking forward to some pics of your tank progress when you get a chance...
