It will fit, however the pump would have to be tucked up underneath the filter bags hanging down in that compartment. If that's not an issue for you then you would be just fine.
ok, one last question, because you were so quick w/the last Q!.
Looks like the skimmer operates best in 9.5" water. would you offhand know the depth of water in the return chamber (i.e. height of the first baffle) in this ruby elite 36 sump?
The minimum operating level of that sump for the skimmer compartment is 7.25". You can easily just raise your auto top off to run it higher though, at pretty much any level you would want to run it at.
