Hi Marine depot,
Are there still issues with the bubble plate popping off on this Q-series?
If this was resolved, what did aquamaxx do to fix this issue? Was there a screw on top plug to secure the plate?
In the instructional manual there is an image of a top plug, but people have said there is nothing securing the plate.

I am interested in this skimmer however would like to know if this issue has been fixed.

I have a Cone S Q-1. I don't remember how the plate is secured but its been up and running for over three months and no issue with the plate so far.

The fitting on the bubble plate is a custom-machined piece and fits snug on the outlet pipe of the pump. The machining specifications was off have since been corrected. All the bubble plate bases have been replaced, so there should not be any more issues. None of the bubble plates have screws or should require screws.

Any new skimmers should not have issues. However, if there happens to be any issues with fitment or anything else, let us know and we'll be happy to take care of it:D

Thank you for the info.
I just bought the Aquamaxx CO-2 skimmer instead. I figure the pump on the outside was more efficient for me to access. I Appreciate the feedback. Happy Reefing.

Nice! You won't be disappointed. Please post a pic once it's in your sump!

Sorry to revive an old thread. I'm having issues with my bubble plate and this model has the screw that holds down the plate. I have the Q3. What steps should I take towards getting it replaced or fixed? Does the warranty still cover this skimmer?

Thanks!

Sorry to hear about the trouble with the skimmer. The bubble plate issue was resolved back in July/August 2015. Skimmers purchased since then should not have this issue. Was the skimmer purchased recently? Quite often, it is simply making sure the bubble plate is pushed down all the way. Please call us at 800-566-3474 or email us at customerservice@marinedepot.com with your order information so we can assist you further. All the bubble plates have a screw that holds the top and bottom plates together. However, none should have a screw that attaches to the pump.

AquaMaxx does offer a one-year warranty. You can find the warranty information here:

AquaMaxx Warranty

If the skimmer was purchase from us, we are authorized to handle all the warranty service/exchange to help expedite the process and get you up and running as quickly as possible :)

I will contact you guys. The skimmer was given to me as a gift. I don't want to burden the gifter with a potential defective item when it was a gift. I'm not sure where they bought it.

Thanks
