For all those fraggers that care. I saw Home Depot is starting to stock Aquamend again. The price is about a buck higher than before but no more shipping it in. YEAH!!!!!!!!!!
I have tried lots of substitutes since Aquamend had been removed from their shelves. I tried the JB fiberglass weld product, the other green putties and the Harvey's putty they all seem to crumble once they get wet and I can't mold them into the rock crevices the way Aquamend will. I literally have tried 6-8 other sticks of potable water safe putty and they all seem to have the one undesirable attribute.

I usually only get the crazy skimmer if I happen to break or crumble the putty inside the tank... If it goes on first shot, then I don't notice any ill skimmer side effects.
Although... I gave up on the putty, and now use only superglue gel for most everything. Although if I were to wedge some rocks together, I would need to reconsider... but for most of my fragging/affixing coral purposes, superglue gel has sufficed.
