wow Brett... just finished combing this massive thread. your tank looks ridiculously awesome. congratulations! (and sorry about your indigenous anthias)
Thanks you so much!!!
i love the steel stand with magnetic panels idea: super clean looking when it's closed, super spacious when it's open. i also must admit i envy your silicone skillz... i had a tougher time getting my baffles put in than you, by the looks of it. i used a 40G breeder tank to build my sump so a lot of that trouble was caused by the frame being in the way when trying to get the baffles into place. Even dry-fitting the baffles first just meant I had more stuff in the way while I was trying to silicone everything. Mine works really well, but yours works well AND looks sweet...
I chickened out on the magnets cause I have small children and didn't want to risk them pulling the panels off. I ended up using pocket screws through the plywood. I cheated on the silicone, Im a construction worker and Ive used a lot of caulking in my time.
nice job man. really nice job.
curious: do you still like the Ca reactor as much as when you started it up? i've been considering adopting one from a friend of mine...
