Your 225 is sweet. Love the growth you've had. Was that a slimer?

Thank you, yeah that slimmer was my first SPS and is probably 3-1/2-4 years old. It must have encrusted for over a year before I got any branches out of it. It's out of control now.

I bought this one at the same time.

Brett, the tank is looking absolutely awesome! What salt are you using BTW?

Thanks Brett, Im using half RC and half tropic Marin pro. I always used RC but just added Tropic Marin to the mix about six months ago to lower the alk of my mix.

Very nice Brett...everything looks great.

Hi Jim, thanks a lot buddy. I just got the OK from my wife to build a little room in the garage for water storage and a better QT setup. I'm gonna need some of your expertise when I get it all built, I've always loved your QT system.

Great, thanks. What's your thoughts on the Tropic Marin salt? See any noticeable differences after using it a while?

Nothing too noticeable but I do like the way it mixes up compared to the RC.

Gotcha, thanks. I'm really considering switching from IO... Can't really nail down what the issue is with doing water changes but I'm about fed up with it. Tropic Marin and/or Red Sea Pro is looking real good to me right now. :headwally:

I'd second Red Sea Pro Salt. I love it, it's consistent, and my tank LOOOOOOOVES it happily.

The Tropic Marine is a great texture and mixes well but Im not happy with the consistency when it comes to testing. The Alk is always a surprise.

Good to know, thanks Newbie.

Interesting. I've read other people have experienced the same with TM salt. But otherwise I've heard it's very solid. Sorry if I derailed your thread asking questions and whatnot... I usually have better manors but your tank looks so dang good I had to ask! :D

Just read the entire thread. Great tank. I love the way the corals are growing in and the tank is maturing. Sorry about your fish losses, but that new Earlie is spectacular!
