Aquarium controllers, worth it?

Anybody use a aquarium controller like a Neptune or one of their competitors? Is it worth it? I think it would be nice to have long-term plots of Ph and temperature. Perhaps controlling my lights based on water temp would be a good idea too. If tank temp is greater than 84 then MH go off. What do you think?

A controller is definitely on my to get list. They are very cool, sunrise/sunset, alerts and stuff. I can't think of something more worthwhile.

I've got 2.. A Neptune AQII on my 180 and my 60 there connected together.. I liked it so much I bought a AQ JR just for my lil 35 Seahorse tank!..

They really are worth IMo.. It tells you the Temp Ph and Orb of your tanks not to mention the fact it replaces all your timers temp controller ph controllers... ect. Plus like you said you can set it up so it cuts your heaters off at a certain temp.. If the temp keeps going up it can flip a fan on.. Still goes up you can turn your lights off... You just can't have redundancy like that with out one...

I just finished setting up my AC Jr w/ DC8. Worth every penny. I don't have to ever unplug anything to turn them off. I just tap two buttons a couple times. The "Feed" feature is also a nice feature. There are so many things you can do with the Neptune controllers, you'll end up sitting in front of your comp trying to think of the ultimate custom program. One thing I had to do though was my temp probe was off by 2.4 degrees out of the box and I had to recalibrate it.

I have an AC III Pro, and without a doubt, the best $ spent....or should I say the best $$$$$'s spent.....

Yep, I think they should be one of the first things you add to a tank. It really helps get your tank stable and to monitor it. I now always know what is going on in my tank from anywhere, defiantly worth every $$$.
