Thanks Sean! This thing is great! I'm glad there are people out there that have way more knowledge of excel than I do!
I do have one suggestion, if it is possible. Currently, the graph that gets created from putting in test results breaks if you have a day entered that you didn't put in a result for. For example, I may test temp and salinity everyday, but phosphate once a week. On the phosphate graph, it lists out all of the days you entered, but of course there is no result, so it just shows a mark on each time it was tested, and doesn't draw a connecting line. Is there a way to get that graph to still connect? I like seeing that linear visual. I'm sure it's just a funtion of the way excel works, but thought I would throw that out there.
Also, what is your best suggestion when an update is made? Just do a copy paste with all of the data from the old file to the new one?
Thanks again, this thing really is awesome!
Chris
Chris,
Thank you for the feedback I really appreciate folks getting on here and sharing their experience with the log. I just ran a test with what you were saying and have the same result. I don't like the look of that either. I'm not sure how to correct it at this moment, the bottom axis of the graph has to be the date...I'll see if I can correct the graph points not connecting when a date is skipped, but looking at it I'm not sure where to adjust this, it may take some time. Thank you for bringing this to my attention.
Yes, my best suggestion is to copy the data from the old spreadsheet and paste it to the new version. Thanks again for posting Chris

Currently the sheet uses Excel.
I'd like to update you all as to why the past couple of days have been so busy. My brother works for a software development company and has taken interest in this sheet. We've been discussing creating a program based on the sheets format, this is very exciting for me. It would mean anyone could use it without having to have excel, and so much more. We are also debating creating an iPhone app based on the format.
I'd like to know from all of you if there is interest in this, and if so, what features would you like to see added. By going the route of a stand alone program we will not be constrained by the limits of excel. Your feedback could help shape a very exciting tool and resource for the community. Thank you all for your feedback.

OK Chris, I got this issue worked out. If you'd like I can send you the adjusted one...if you or anyone else would like to adjust this yourself here are the steps.
1. Go to desired graph
2. Right click on the graph area
3. Click "Select Data..."
4. Click the "Hidden and Empty Cells" button(lower left corner)
5. Select the "Connect data points with a line" option
You will need to do this for all 15 of the graph pages, it took me a little over a minute. Thank you again for bringing this up Chris, that was a good catch.
Note: These instructions will not work for excel 2003, however, you should not have this issue because the show blanks as gaps feature was not added till excel 2007.

Thank you to MojaveReefer. This is working out very well. Tons of information can be stored and logged into concise graphs and such! I couldn't live with out it!
