aquarium magnets needed

Hey guys, I'm making a frag tray and right now and the only magnets I have that work are my mag-floats. Where can I get some strong magnets that I can put in the aquarium? The tank is a 120g so the glass is pretty thick, I tried using mags that worked in a 75g but they wont work with this one.

Those magnets are crazy strong. The 1/2" ones will clamp down through your hand. You cannot pull them straight apart from one another. I have a single frag plug holder that uses the 1/4" dia. ones on my 120. I would suggest larger dia. magnets for a tray. IMO

I think these are the ones that those guys in PA ordered. When you order, order me about 4 and that should be good.

I bought both 16 lbs pull and 21 lbs pull. For the money, go with the stronger. I see some difference between holding strength and with turbo in my tank, the stronger work better. This is on 75 gallon glass. If yours is thicker, get something stronger. I think the ones that Raynist got may be to strong and you need to use care when placing them against the tank glass, do not let them snap together. Also, regular CA glue (crazy glue) did not hold the magnets to the egg crate. I use a quick set epoxy. I also dipped mine in plasty dip and let it set-up for about a week.

Here is something I was thinking of using.

They would have to be coated with epoxy or something like plasti dip. You would only need 2 magnet instead of 4. (2.70 for 2 vs. 3.50 each.) With almost 40 lbs of pull, I do not think they will go anywhere. Just a thought.

I think I might go a different route now and wont need the magnets. Also I think the shipping is cheap enough and with the amout we would order that a group buy not be worth it anyways, easier to have them just shipped to your house versus driving all over to get them.
