Hello,
Besides being a aquarist, I am also a pretty decent software engineer... And as a "pet project", I also started a virtual aquarium water simulator. So far, no good...
I started with the (limited?) knowledge that I have of the biological processes active in a tank.
My simulation at this time includes about 30 parameters: bacterias, microfauna, diatoms, microalgae, macroalgae, O2, Co2, NH3, No2, No3, Ca, Po, pH, T, etc, etc and a decent number of feedback loops.
But... My maths or my model, or probably both are totally broken. My simulation diverges badly and I am always getting a tank full of nitrates - and no more room for water - after just a few days of simulated time.
I am now looking for advanced papers and studies related to this subject so that I can start over on more solid scientific background.
Could you please point me to web sites, studies, white papers, etc?
Thank you in advance.
