Aquascape opinions

I am upgrading my tank to an 80G Frag tank - It's all set up just need to move the fish. Before I move the fish I wanted opinions on my scape and if I will run into any problems. I plan on running 2 - MP10's on each end of the tank - Its 48" x 24" by 16". As you can see there are two rock structures. I have left a perimeter around the outside of the rocks and through the middle of the two structures so my Fighting Conch can navigate through everything. I'd rather try to get this right before I have everyone situated.

Does anyone see any potential issues in terms of flow or anything I may not be thinking about?

Thanks in advance - Steve

I'm partial to a lagoon setup with rocks. If it were me, I would get a large flat piece to put between the two structures.

Seems to me there wouldn't be any flow issues.

Very true. It's so sturdy and I like how it looks. I don't have a lot of fish that do caves but my two shrimps do and my blenny. I'm gonna do something additional for him. I am most concerned with flow and dead spots since my other tank had issues I finally corrected. Oh an my conch loves doing laps so a perimeter is a must have!

Looks pretty open on all sides so I think your flow should do OK. You may need to tweak your powerheads once things are going.

Looks good:thumbsup:

the islands look good but Id have a slightly bigger gap between the islands myself but at the end of the day your the one who looks at it every day

I personally prefer creating two separate reefs. In my tank although it is only a 36 gallon I have made two structures with some open sand in between. On the left side of my tank I have 3 big rocks creating an arch with some smaller rocks at the base surrounding them to make it seem more natural. On the right side of my tank I have two rocks stacked on top of one another giving my fish a lot of room to swim around and a lot of room for my corals when I add them to grow.

Here is my Bowfront tank so far. Still only a bout a month an 1 week into the tank.

Also I just recently (yesterday) picked up this coral frag. Not sure exactly what kind it is I think it is a Zoa/polyp it is in the front of the tank in the sand. I am going to drill a small hole in the rock on the left creating the arch to place it in, but for now it is in the sand.
