Is it 100% necessary to use epoxy or putty when placing rock? All of mine fit together pretty well and is not wobbly.

Nope! it's not 100% necessary, but it's will certainly help to use putty or epoxy.
Majority of mine are free stacked and some I had to use putty as my giant turbo snails can and will bulldozer my rock work. Also, don't under estimate the strength of some of the fish, they can move big rocks. I have witnessed my velvet damsel moved a tonga branch 10+ time bigger then it.

Yep, this. I'm one of those people who can't put things back together the way they were so when I move a rock to clean, catch fish, etc. its never the same. Epoxy definitely helps but not necessary.

Okay thanks. I'm trying to decide if mine looks good. I moved the small off to the side by it's self. I'd like to have a larger piece off to the side and possibly add more but I don't know if it would be too full. What do you guys think?

I don't think it looks bad. I like it!

Save yourself some headaches and throw out the hydrometer and get yourself a decent refractometer. Your future inhabitants and headache will thank you.

I second that ☝ rockscape looks great! Mine also is not glued together but I would like to. I have a big turbo snail I've been debating on keeping as he's done his job and it too big for my 5 gallon. Would love to see how this turns out though!

Well that makes me more confident about it. Thanks! I have a refractometer coming on Tuesday from Amazon. I realized the hydrometer sucks when it's different every time I check...:sad2:

I like the rockscape! I'm a big fan of tunnels and caves. Only thing I'd suggest is taking advantage of the depth of your tank. Maybe spreading the rock more front to back, rather than stacking. You want plenty of room for a variety of corals to grow

I thought about rearranging a little bit, but didn't want to mess with it too much. I was worried about not having enough room in the front by the glass for viewing pleasure.

I originally wanted a fowlr, but might start adding soft corals if I can get my parameters good.

I would definitely get a good skimmer if you want to control your parameters. Also look into a overflow and sump. Best thing you can do for your tank.
