Aquatic Solutions Reef safe ich medication

I just heard about a newer product from Aquarium Solutions called Saltwater Ich-X. It's supposed to be reef safe, but I am apprehensive to say the least. I couldn't find any reviews anywhere. it is relatively new, been out eight months or so. Just wondering if anyone has used it. Thanks.

I have a friend who has used it, but I do not know enough to give you details. He said it worked and he was surprised that it did. But that is totally anecdotal.

There's always a "New Reef Safe" ich med comming on the market. I have yet to find one that is proven to work. The thing is that fish can develop an "immunity" towards ich or velvet so if the stuff is added to a tank and the fish get better it appears like it worked.

Imo, if it was a proven revolutionary product the news & buzz would be huge & everyone would know about it before it even hit the market. Because this hasn't happened, I doubt it's any more effective than the rest that claim to work.

Until it proves itself to be as efffective as copper & hypo in eliminating ich, I'm skeptical.

I agree with Big E. However, a friend recently recommended a product called Herbtana to me about 2 months back (when I had an ich outbreak going on) and it seemed to work. The really sick fish died, however the rest bounced back and lived. The product did no harm to any corals or inverts whatsoever. Could be snake oil, but I'd prolly use it again if needed.

Uh....then it didnt work. Snake oil. All of it.

The friend I have that used it, was doubting as well. However he was servicing a new tank (for him) and had no choice because the person who owned the tank had no qt tank. He was skeptical, but said it did seem to work. Personally, I am skeptical, but he does service a LOT of tanks.
