Aquatic technology TV commercial

I see it from time to time... it's an old commercial. It usually runs at like 3am. If you haven't been to his store lately it's worth a stop ... the place is really cleaning up and some of the prices are getting lowered.

i agree, place is looking great and greg is really easy to talk to now. i do all my sw shopping there. im sorry salty is just to far for my schedule. dont get me wrong i stop there when im on that side of town though.

I was there over the weekend still the same heap of used aquarium related items piled everywhere in the green house and around the cash register. How about a auction to move that used equipment. The best part I walked in with $350 walked out with $350 couldnt seem to get waited on in 40 minutes. Used the parking lot for a urinal and went to salty Critter and dropped $90ish and my buddy dropped $80=$170 I would have to say poor customer service or horrible scheduling of employees. $1.25 per ghost shrimp I can buy them all day at that price for a dozen. I would hate to see what they were before those good prices. But on the positive side Greg does have healthy livestock and he does support the club. I guess he didnt want my support though.

Classy guy there Pete  ... I didn't say the prices were awesome or great. I said they were being lowered. I saw several fish there that were cheaper than Salty Critter and Tropical Aquarium last time I was in. You do have to know what you are looking for and the going prices or you may end up paying way more than you need to.
The stuff in the greenhouse is WAAAAAY more organized and is getting better each time I go there. It isn't my only sho of choice but it is a great improvement over the previous visits (except for the urine smell in the parking lot)

its great to know that people are still urinating in parking lots. hey eyeseeu save the urine for a browns game or a cocert in cleveland. be a real adult and try holding it until you get to a bathroom. besides how many pet stores sw stores etc. have you been in now that you know you should go to the bathroom before going. hint the sound of water makes everbody go pee pee. also i have great service the past three or four times i have came in there!! salty still is a better store but the drive kills me.

Comments from the peanut gallery. Some of you people amaze me. Joke/humor =I used the lot as a urinal and not a toilet meant my trip there wasn't worth a S#!t. I thought someone who quotes Steven Wright would have caught that hint.. hint.. nudge, nudge Kevin.

LOL... the thing about humor/jokes is that they are supposed to be funny/humorous. That's why several people reading your comment "Used the parking lot for a urinal and went to salty Critter " didn't see a joke there.

I would consider my sense of humor to be pretty sharp and that one just eluded me totally. Even now that you "explained it" I still don't see the humor but I guess everyone has their own idea of what funny is.

I think it is a big improvement to see Greg's store cleaner and brighter. Last few times I was in there I was asked by 3 different employees if I needed help. I was actually getting tired of saying, "No thanks, just looking."
Greg still has his mess by the register and a lot of the "aquatic technology" that he has is from 2003 but any improvement is a step in the right direction IMO.

I will go back to my peanut gallery now :)

we all know what you meant by what you said about urinating. dont try to talk your way around your "sense of humor" that know one seems to get. im still scratching my head at this comment getting balder and balder with every itch, haha you get it haha nudge nudge!!!!!!!

Hi all,

Does it hurt to ask if you see something you would like a price on?
I won't even comment on the urinal thing. It does seem Greg is trying to clean up his act both in the appearance of his store & his attitude towards customers. Keep it up Greg, an AT flee market/auction sounds good to me.

I stopped by there the other day on the way to the airport. Honestly, although it is a far cry from SC, I thought AT has improved.

I still think their prices are a bit out there. However, the guy has a right to charge whatever he wants and I have the right to buy where I want.

Walked into the store ready to spend $500. Left the store with $500. I could not get waited on. Needed skimmer and some live rock. That said, the front of the store looks much better. Live stock was nice too.

I was in there last weekend. I have to agree with everyone else. The store is really cleaning up the clutter however I saw 2 people working there and I had to wait 30 minutes to get waited on. On a good note I did notice they seem to be getting friendlier. Hopefully they keep getting better.

Not sure how you guys do that. I can walk into Phishy Business with a cpl hundred dollars and walk out totally broke and wondering how the heck I did that. lol

Someone chime in if they remember; I know several years ago there was a local store that had an employee "gifting" livestock to their freinds at the register. I'm not sure, but I think it was AT.

At any rate, I have observed that all of the employees at AT can scoop livestock but not all can ring you out. So some times you get help with livestock immediately but wait to be rung out.

As for the store; I'm glad to see the improvements. I look forward to making it a more frequent stop. Pricing; like anything you buy, you need to do some research. I see differences all the time, of course there are always differences in size and health of the systems that seem to follow prices.

parking lot relief

parking lot relief

Believe it or not we had a customer who was so drunk that he actualy did relieve himself in the parking lot out front on a very crowded day, not on a tree or anything like proper drunk people, but out by the road where everyone could see him.

I love stopping by any time I am in the area. Currently, he is 2.5 hrs away. Service is slower than other places, but to me, its worth the wait. He has hooked me up with parts for pumps he had in the back, takes time to answer any questions I had, etc. Some times they are busy. I guess being in business for myself, I am more understanding when I have to wait for service and they are simply busy. Glad to hear the store is improving.

As far as the used "junk" laying around the front of the store. I find myself digging around while waiting looking for stuff I want. Doesn't bother me at all.
