Aquaticlife expert vs Current USA orbit

Hello Marine Depot
I have a very seasoned 72L x 18W x 27H FOWLR that has been running for around 15 years.
I have a Hamilton tech 4x square pin Comp PC / 3 x MH hanging hood currently on it now.
My son wants to expand to corals (against my recommendation but live and learn) and the sq pin PC bulbs have become hard to find.
I need a 72 inch light
Current USA has this in the orbit dual
Aquaticlife on your site can only select 48/60 inch im not sure what this means.
Can you clarify and what would be a better option for my tank.
Either or I will be purchasing from you if you stock what I need.
Thank You

Hi Uncle Gilbert,

Thanks for your inquiry. 48/60 means the fixture is 48" long but has legs that can extend to 60".

For a 72" aquarium that is 27" deep, you will need something a lot more powerful for corals. Our recommendation would be two 27" Razors or three AI Hydra 26's.

Such a large and deep aquarium will not be cheap to light, unfortunately. A T5 lighting system may be a good cheaper alternative.

I have the same light as you do and it is a really good light for corals. I know the 4 pin bulbs are harder to find but I have been able to order them through my LFS and find them online. Unless you really want to change, I would keep what you have for as long as possible since it will be a major purchase to change it.
