I think you can find the answer to all of your questions and then some in the previous 40 pages. I use it to control my Calicium reator (PH levels), Ozone (redox), Main return pump, water changes, Metal Halides, and soon my salinity levels.

Actually the last 40 pages are not technical at all. You control "water changes"? How? Soon you will be controlling "salinty"? Are you controlling or monitoring?

Don

Sorry guy's I have been out of the loop for a few weeks man this thread got big! So any way a couple questions now that I have min up and going why does my water level sensor show up as a temperature sensor? It is a bit confusing. Well I gues that is it for now.

I guess I don't understand what you mean by "technical".

you will be controlling "salinty"?
Basically an auto top off set up.
The water changes are done by controlling my return pump and a pump in my 55 gallon salt mixing bucket, and a pump in a compartment in my sump. I have to do it manually through the software because there is no way (that I know of) to set it for once a month, but it works well for me and I keep my hands dry and the whole process takes a few minutes. Hope that helps.

Yeah I know what you mean, my mood is actualy starting to mimic my Tanks status  It's driving my wife nutts!
If the Tank is looking good I am a happy man all night, If I come home and find problems my mood sinks and I take it out on everyone. I have got to stop doing that.

I don't have this problem, my mood is very stable - always grumpy lol :D

Some people are getting pH readings that are about .3 lower than what it should be. This seems to correct it.

Thanks for the info robby,
What are the issues around the probes, they are not unpack 2 pt calibrate and leave alone? what are the off?

Its doing everything, all I do is clean prefilters and do water changes. and some of us have it doing water changes, so that just leaves cleaning filters. As soon as the robotic arm Module comes out that should be solved :D

Ive got a good friend considering the Aquatronica that cant get any true info.
How about some of you Aquatronica owners posting some more technical info. What are you guys doing with this thing besides monitoring a few tank params and timing your lights? What could you make it do, as far as redundancy and protection goes?

Thanks
Don

If your just starting out then Reset the system and replug back in your modules one by one. I think what happened was that you plugged your temp and Level in one way then must have switched plugs later, the unit is still holding on to the orginal setting.

BTW a reset will wipe all data so write down any settings you already have.

Can you actually set up the software to do a water change? Obviously its not going to add salt but can you trigger solenoids and use sump, tank levels, ph, temp and salinity to do actual automated water change. Themoneypit posted his method but thats not a automated water change, just pump switching. These are more the type of things my buddy is looking for, right out of the box.

Don

i don;t think it can do that esp since you might jhave less water coming out of a pump than going in & likewise. i thought about this & the best way to do this is actually to get the litermeter 3 which clibrates the peristaltic pumps so that whats goes in is exactly what is coming out. the litermeter is of course quite ex...but hehheh i know a secret that can get you around 30% off the current rrp.

With the use of floatswitches, pumps, and solenoids you can automate waterchanges. I personally think it's too risky, and perfer the manual method.

A less risky way involves doing daily small volume water changes with a dosing pump or 2.

I did'nt want to turn this into a water change debate. Just reseaching the Aquatronica controller and software. Would it be true that the Aquatronica does or does not have the logic capabilities to perform such tasks?

Thanks
Don

yes it could. just have to be careful thats all or you will get a nice little flood in your living room the tunze level controller is mechanical & can fail. optical level sensors are more reliable but more ex.

Very nice TheMoneyPit, you just gave me an idea or two, thank you very much...

My pH readings changed from 7.8 to 9.5 to 10.6 to 8.5 yesterday, getting sick and tired of this problem

I replaced the probe with a Pinpoint probe that I had to see if it fixes the problem. Need to calibrate but ran out of pH calibration fluid. I wish the stingy calibration packets came with more fluid, it's barely enough to cover the probe

As you see, I am still very cheerful :D

This would pi$$ me off to no end.....this is exactly why I have not bought a controller yet, I hear ppl complain that the AC's DC's suck and x10 suck, but than I read you cant get a stable PH reading on one of the most basic functions of a aquarium controller.

I wish it all just worked as advertised.....take probe.....turn on......calibrate @ 7/10.....put in sump/reactor....recalibrate 6 months later... for the money this is how it should be.

What is AQT support telling you? That would be my first call and it would be there problem not mine.

What is the warranty for the AQT? How long? Limited or a full warranty?

Does anyone know if anyone from AQT plans to become a sponsor here on RC and have a dedicated forum to it?

Sorry for all the questions, just trying to do thorough research before dropping a grand.

When I reported the problem AQT sent me a replacement probe (which reminds me i still havent shipped the original probe back).

But it didn't fix the problem so either all AQT pH probes have the same problem or this is not related to the probe and is something wrong with the controller.

After I buy the stingy calibration fluid  and calibrate the pinpoint probe i'll see how the readinds are. Unfortunately that won't happen before Monday

Happy New Year! :D

Look into buying Coralife Calibration fluid, as you can get it in 4oz. bottles and it's not that expensive.

I'm hoping the pH problem isn't universal..
