Here is a stupid question I have been meaning to ask hoping someone else would but here it goes. So I see all the package deals come with a temp sensor but does that include the temp/level interface or do you get a temp probe that is useless until you buy the interface?

Hi, this question didn't get answered. The temp probe plugs into the power strip. so it is usable as soon as you fire it up. I have yet to get the temp/level interface. so Yes it is usable right away.

16 A and 1800W according to a .pdf from aquatronica.com for the US Model.
16 A and 3000W for the European models.

Here's what I have pluged into my strip just in case anyone cares;
2 - 400 watt halides
1 - Ampmaster 3000
1 - Iwaki 100
1 - Blueline 20 pump (45w) Calcium Reactor
1 - Solinod (not sure about watt usage)
1 - Red Sea 100mg/hr Ozone generator

That's about it..

haha :) no diversion from the topic then:) thanks though to themoneypit for the support.

say has anyone ever opened one of the aquatronica powerbars up? just curious:) btw i had problems calibrating the ph probe as well when i tried ph 7 & 9 (apparently it only calibrates to 7 & 10).

haha don;t ask where i got the ph9 fluid from.....it was from an orp calibrating kit

did anyone see the usb port/interface the aquatronica has out? saw a pic on the web a few weeks ago & can;t seem to find it now. looks like just a rebadged usb hub.

I purchased a regular Serial to USB converter at a computer store and it worked just fine! No need for a special unit.

Moneypit the LAN interface should be out in May 2006 so lets keep our fingers crossed.
BTW I just finished watching the whole "Rome" mini-series on HBO so dont tempt me about my Light Saber :) BTW it was great series.

sounds good:) can't wait for the lan interface. btw whats is the life of an orp probe & a ph probe? when do we have to change those probes we bought rom aquatronica? would it simply be better getting a refillable probe from aquamedic to use with our aquatronica?

i got probes from bestlabdeals.com they have things quite cheap there.

I am going to switch to another PC. What are the steps again?

1) Install software from CD

2) Select "Internet Update"

3) Connect to controller

is that it?

Got an Interesting email from Aquatronica In Italy.
I had emailed them regarding the need for a speedy delivery of the LAN module and got back a very nice reply.

Cutting to the specifics
______
"the release of the Ethernet module is scheduled for May 2006 at the INTERZOO SHOW in Nurnberg, Germany. We have a list of products which will be launched at this show, even though the Ethernet thing is the most important one"

"our Ethernet connection will have all what the NEP#### system has and something else. Moreover it is supposed to be cheaper"

"it will be an accessory as any other product, meaning that it will just be a plug-in to the system you already have (no need to throw everything away). You just need to connect it to the power bar and the system will automatically recognized it and handle it. Once hooked to the LAN, youââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢ll be able to remotely control it, pretty much as you can do today via a PC and the PC interface, by means of the Windows XP remote control utility. Simply, you wonââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢t need the PC."

NOW THE BAD NEWS

"I want to be crystal clear on this, though: the product will be introduced in May, but wonââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢t be available for sale on the market before August. Delay is needed for fine-tuning, mass production and shipment to our distributors"

"I wonââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢t bother you with the technical details, but we like to do things in the right way and we deemed it better to wait a little longer (loosing sales, I know) but to have a state-of-the-art product. "

GUYS
I am going to be writing them back letting them know the August date is just way to long. I would rather have the hardware and some Beta software in May than wait till August for 100% software. What do you guys think?

The Internet Update just gets the files from Aquatronica web site and updates the PC software.

The Controller Update is used to update the actual software aka Firmware inside the Aqutronica unit, also it can update the firmware inside various modules like pH or Orp Module.

Why do I need to update the controller? I think it's already updated, right?

Robby thanks for all the good info. Any word from Aquatronica about the SMS module? I'd be (barely) OK waiting until August for the Internet piece if at least I can get some notification if something goes wrong with my tank.

About the beta test thing, you're guys are all wrong! I told Will I wanted to beta test a long time ago, so I'm FIRST :D
